  • Less processed = less sugar and starch. Highly processed foods (like crackers, cookies, chips, and packaged snacks) often contain added sugars and refined starches that stick to teeth and feed cavity-causing bacteria.
  • Processed foods = more cavities. The more processed a snack is, the more likely it is to contribute to tooth decay and poor nutrition.


👉 Pro Tip: Stick to the outside aisles of the grocery store when shopping. That’s where you’ll find the healthiest, cavity-safe foods like fresh produce, dairy, and lean proteins. The middle aisles are where most processed, sugar-packed snacks hide.
